KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — Popular 1980s artist Datuk Nassier Wahab, most popular for his tune Memori Cinta Luka and Bayangan Wajah Luka, passed on at the Universiti Malaya Specialist Center (UMSC), close here, early today.

The Artiste Association of Malaysia (Seniman) secretary-general Hafiz Nafiah, in an announcement, said Nassier at 57, whose genuine name is Mohd Nasir Abd Wahab, inhaled his last at 12.45am.

"Seniman thinks about his (Nassier's) passing as a significant misfortune to the music business.

"The top authority and official council individuals from Seniman Malaysia give their sympathies to the group of the perished," he said.

Harian Metro revealed that Nassier, whose acclaimed tunes incorporate Memori Cinta Luka and Bayangan Wajah Luka, had recently experienced a medical procedure to expel a tumor to his left side jaw on June 1.

He had been experiencing a hard pain on his gum since five years prior yet he would just take painkillers, as indicated by his personal assistant.

"He would take the pills and the agony would leave. Now and then it took a few days for the pain to die down," he stated, including that specialist had prompted Nassier to experience a medical procedure as the torment had been reliable yet he continued deferring it.

"After a third regular checkup, at exactly that point he concurred for a medical procedure, which occurred on June 1," included the assistant.
